The forehead thermometer works a lot like the standard digital thermometer but less accurate. The difference is that this device doesn’t require physical contact before measurements are taken. Instead, it uses infrared to estimate the body’s temperature. This device has a gun-like structure that allows a third-party to point and measure another person’s temperature.

4. Ear Thermometer

This device also works based on infrared technology. It is placed in the ear of the patient to measure the body’s temperature. Also, it is ideal for kids and babies. However, it is not as accurate as a traditional electronic thermometer.

5. Pacifier Thermometer

The pacifier thermometer, as the name implies, is shaped exactly like a pacifier. This device is used for babies. The device fits into the baby’s mouth, just like a pacifier. After a few minutes, readings are taken off the digital display. The working principle of this device is a lot like a traditional digital thermometer. However, readings can be slightly inaccurate, especially if a baby refuses to stay still.
